Smokey Paprika Greek Yogurt Dip

June is National Dairy Month—a perfect time to raise a glass (of milk!) to the hardworking dairy farmers who bring fresh, wholesome dairy products to our tables every day. Here in Colorado, dairy is more than just a staple—it’s a cornerstone of the state’s agricultural industry. Our family-owned farms take pride in producing high-quality milk that nourishes communities locally and across the country. Supporting Colorado dairy means supporting these local families and their dedication to sustainable, responsible farming.

From creamy yogurt and flavorful cheeses to a cold glass of milk, dairy foods are not only delicious but also packed with essential nutrients like calcium, protein, and vitamin D—key players in building strong bones, supporting muscle growth, and promoting overall health. Dairy also delivers vital minerals like potassium and magnesium, which help keep your heart healthy and your blood pressure in check. And with options ranging from lactose-free varieties to innovative plant-forward blends, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Plus, dairy makes mealtime easy and satisfying. Start your day with a yogurt parfait, add a little local cheese to your omelet, or stir fresh milk into your morning coffee or favorite recipe. From a cozy bowl of mac and cheese to a smooth and creamy soup, dairy adds richness, flavor, and nutrition to everyday dishes.

So this June, celebrate dairy—Colorado-style. Enjoy the taste, savor the nutrition, and support the local farmers who make it all possible. Find a local farmers market near you and get to know your farmers and ranchers by using our Farm Fresh Directory. We also encourage you to check your local and online retailers.

Pairing Suggestions

Start your meal with a glass of Snowy Peaks Winery Albariño, a vibrant Colorado white wine bursting with zesty flavors of grapefruit, mandarin, and lemon, complemented by delicate floral aromas. Crisp and refreshing, it’s the perfect companion to light dishes like seafood, grilled vegetables, or citrusy salads—bringing a touch of sunshine to every bite.

Then, swap the traditional dessert for a nostalgic twist: flavored milk from Longmont Dairy. Choose from vanilla mint, orange creamsicle, old-fashioned chocolate, or strawberry—each one rich, creamy, and perfect for both kids and kids-at-heart.
