A Pandemic-born business, Black Girl Salsa started in August 2020 when founder Shauna Sankey decided to turn her salsa-making hobby into a business. The Colorado, salsa brand is family-run and beloved by customers across the state. Just as many Kroger shoppers are committed to buying local, Sankey also supports the Colorado community by sourcing ingredients from local vendors whenever possible. Her favorite jalapeƱos come from MUSSO Farms in Pueblo, Colo., her hometown.
Black Girl Salsa offers seven unique flavors to suit every palette. With plans to expand to more local grocers, stadiums, and markets, the company is on track to further statewide distribution and move to national chains as well. A recipient of the American Express 2020 Back the Black Business Grant and featured on regional NBC and FOX networks, Black Girl Salsa is already becoming a household name.
