We are a veteran owned biochar producer in Durango, Co. We produce our own biochar for our farm from locally sourced firewood slash derived from standing dead beetle kill (ponderosa pine). Our company focuses on end-to-end biochar in a low tech and regenerative manner. Not only do we produce high quality biochar with our flamecap kilns, but we produce it with an extremely low carbon footprint and work with our clients or local projects to install it. We provide a surplus of our biochar to our local community at the farmer's market. Our focus and strategy are to empower more citizens and farmers to come together and produce biochar for their communities to improve soil health in a long-term manner. Biochar education is a passion of ours, and we host workshops throughout the year where we share the basics around biochar. Beyond selling our surplus biochar, we also focus on finding farmers in our community who know about biochar but can not afford it. We partner with them and train them to produce their own at an affordable rate. This alleviates the unaffordability aspect of biochar and instead lets them be involved in the production process where they can eventually intake these skills provide an internal input that can lower their year over year fertilizer and water costs.
