To promote Lavender as an alternative cash crop in Colorado through education, research, networking and market development. Formed in 2009, The Lavender Association of Colorado encompasses the entire state. As a crop, lavender is well-suited to the Colorado environment. It is a drought-tolerant and low maintenance perennial. Lavender thrives in our hot, dry, high elevation and lean soil. We have our Western Slope members from Carbondale to Paonia to Cortez to Cotapaxi and places throughout. We are joined by growers on the Front Range from Livermore to Longmont to Littleton to Pueblo, and many points in between. Our members are tucked into subdivisions and can be found in small valleys in the foothills, and some are located on the high plains and are thriving in forested areas. Lavender truly blooms statewide!
LAC members are growers and producers of a wide variety of high-quality products, located across the State of Colorado. We are proud to have over 55 farms as members, representing over 65,000 plants in the ground, and continuing to expand. We have two levels of Membership, a General Member, and a Supporter Member. These can be found on our website and we would love your support to further the value of Colorado Lavender.
Each June on the last weekend, we celebrate the Annual Colorado Lavender Festival, since 2011 in Palisade CO. We have dozens of lavender farmers, artisan craft vendors, delicious food vendors, outstanding music, and more! There are lectures and workshops, yoga and art classes, farm tours, and a gourmet lavender themed dinner. Join us!
